The School badge consists of two parts: upper left (blue) and lower right (green), with blue representing the sky and the green the earth. The white inbetween is shaped like the arabic figure 5, which not only represents the School but also a hovering eagle beating hard its wings between the earth and the sky.
No.5 Middle School
Deyang No.5 Middle School has achieved a lot since it's doors first opened to its students in 1988; with the help of the government in education, teaching and research. The Schools honor room contains prizes, trophies and medals from all over the world ranging from local city competitions to national events such as the Olympics; from art to sceience, history to mathematics. These acheievements are a reflection of the Schools dedication in the education of its students and show the wisdom and hard work of its teachers.
Deyang NO.5 Middle School's construction began on November 1st 1987 when the Mayor Chang Guangnan, Vice-Mayor Ren Qinyuan and Education Bureau administrator Zhang Shaobing laid the foundation stone.
It held its opening ceremony on October 12th 1988 and opened its doors to students before the year was out. The school consisted of teaching buildings, offices, student accomodation, a lecture hall, a library, a building of science and technology and a sports open air facility.
By the beginning of the 21st century, however, much of these facilties were now out dated and in poor condition and so revovation work began in 2003 to turn the school into the vast complex of buldings that can be seen today. It totally changed the original school into a new face with attractive buildings, graceful environment and modern teaching facilities.
